Description
Product Name : Matsui Gin The Hakuto 700mL
Taste Profile : Matsui Gin The Hakuto pours crystal clear, with a brilliant, glassy polish and a light, delicate sheen. It appears clean and precise—much like the spirit itself. On the nose, it is immediately aromatic yet balanced. The initial burst brings bright citrus notes—yuzu, lemon peel, and mandarin zest—followed by juniper and cracked coriander seed. Underneath, you’ll detect floral subtleties of sakura (cherry blossom) and a sweet, almost ethereal hint of white peach. There’s a refined herbal complexity, with green tea and Sansho pepper adding a fresh, slightly savory edge. On the palate, the gin is smooth and expressive. It opens with soft citrus and a gentle juniper backbone, immediately balanced by sweet fruit, especially peach and pear skin. Mid-palate brings in herbal and floral notes—sencha, rose, and angelica root—as well as a slightly tingling warmth from Sansho pepper. Despite the number of botanicals, the balance remains light, graceful, and elegant. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied, slightly oily, and silky, with a cool, refreshing texture. At 40% ABV, it's accessible and clean, making it highly versatile for sipping or mixing. The finish is gently warming and floral, with lingering notes of citrus peel, dried herbs, and a faint kiss of stone fruit and pepper.
