Description
In the glass, it displays a deep antique amber color, radiant and rich, suggesting age and depth. The nose is wonderfully layered, opening with dried figs, sultanas, and sherried fruitcake, quickly followed by notes of toffee, dark honey, and a gentle leathered oakiness. Beneath the initial richness lies an elegant trace of old library books, orange zest, and polished furniture wax, evoking its long slumber in seasoned casks. On the palate, Glenfarclas 25 is velvety, full-bodied, and supremely refined. Rich sherry character dominates without overwhelming, delivering waves of steeped black tea, molasses, dark chocolate truffle, and roasted walnut. The oak influence is mature and polished, adding structure through tannic grip and subtle spice—clove, cinnamon, and a whiff of tobacco leaf. Everything feels integrated and complete, like a finely aged symphony of malt, wood, and time. The finish is long, majestic, and warming, tapering slowly through lingering notes of spiced fruitcake, espresso, and cigar box cedar.
