Description
Código Origen Sherry Cask Extra Añejo pours a deep mahogany amber, with ruby reflections from the sherry influence. Its legs are long and slow—signaling its richness, age, and weight. On the nose, this tequila is nothing short of decadent. It opens with aromas of dark cherry compote, roasted agave, and baking spices, layered with dried fig, leather, and cocoa nibs. Hints of walnut, clove, and sweet pipe tobacco rise as it breathes, while the sherry cask imparts plum preserve, almond, and a subtle oxidative nuttiness. On the palate, it is full-bodied, silky, and layered. A luxurious wave of dark chocolate, molasses, and toasted oak greets the tongue, followed by candied orange peel, vanilla bean, and maraschino cherry. The sherry finish adds richness and elegance without overwhelming the agave base—it’s a masterclass in balance. The mouthfeel is velvety, smooth, and contemplative. There is no harshness—only warming complexity and long-aged integration. The finish is long, warm, and evolving, with lingering notes of sherry-soaked dates, espresso bean, leather, and caramelized agave. It fades with grace, leaving a softly spiced, dessert-like echo.
