Description
Codigo Anejo Sherry Cask pours a rich amber gold, with copper-red undertones that reflect its dual-barrel maturation. The liquid clings to the glass in long, slow legs—signaling depth and maturity. On the nose, it opens with ripe fig, roasted agave, and caramelized oak. Notes of cinnamon, sherry-soaked raisins, and candied orange peel emerge, layered over a delicate core of red fruit, toffee, and a trace of dried tobacco. The bouquet is elegant, slightly earthy, and deeply expressive. On the palate, the tequila is silky, rounded, and gently sweet. It begins with baked agave, plum, and spiced nuts, then opens into flavors of vanilla bean, milk chocolate, and cherry preserve. The sherry finish introduces warm tannins and a whisper of almond skin, bringing complexity without overwhelming the agave essence. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, with soft warmth and beautiful texture. The influence of both wine and sherry barrels is seamlessly integrated, offering a gentle sweetness balanced by spice and oak. The finish is long and clean, with echoes of dried fruit, caramel, toasted barrel, and the satisfying depth of aged agave and fine sherry.
